Introduction

The AOS Judging Centers, located throughout the United States of America and Canada, are composed of approximately 500 Emeritus, Accredited, Probationary and Student judges that evaluate exhibited orchids, assigning many different types of awards to both species and hybrids.   Awards that are granted must follow the strict guidelines as outlined in the Society's Handbook on Judging and Exhibition.

At the Dallas Judging Centre - AOS, there are 13 accredited judges, 1 emeritus judge, 1 probationary judge and 8 student judges.  Two additional nominees are awaiting AOS Trustee approval and will be classified as student judges. Four invaluable volunteers also assist in the judging process.

The judging sessions often include a discussion on predetermined topics related to orchid flower judging, which is beneficial to all who attend, judges, volunteers and guests.
